If anyone wants to camp, either the night before or the whole weekend.
We have arranged a special discounted rate at the following site:
www.highfieldfarmtouringpark.co.uk
It will only cost you £5.00 per person, per night, so check it out and then book yourselves a place. Ask for Beverley. It is literally first come first served until it is full.
Mention RBLR when booking, they are running a seperate booking order book for us. Usual cost is £14.00 per head.
For those of you who prefer hotels. The hotel at the Cambridge Services [currently closed]
'WILL BE OPENED FOR US'
courtesy of the Services management. I don't know costs, but it will be opened from Friday 3rd July to Monday 6th July for our usage
We have arranged for the local pub
to welcome you.
The Landlord is an ex gunner called Colin. Let him know you will be there in the evening, he is waiting to welcome you all, and hopes to meet up with a few ex squaddies he might know. He is willing to organise a barbeque for us [costs not yet agreed as dependant on numbers interested]
The Pub and the campsite are 1 mile apart, and there is a local taxi firm that will charge £10.00 per car full [4 people] to take you back to the campsite.
There is also a local B&B [just opposite the cemetery] called Woodfield House that would welcome anyone who wishes to B&B, rather than camp. Their website link is: www.smoothhound.co.uk/hotels/woodfield.html their rates are very reasonable, all rooms are ensuite and they can accomodate more than 2 to a room if needed, so friends can stay together.
Duxford Imperial War Museum. We have arranged a special entry price [dependant on 50 + attending] for an afternoon visit to the museum. It will cost us £9.95 per person [normally £16.00] with children under 15 being allowed entry for FREE. To see what you will be able to visit go to: http://www.duxford.iwm.org.uk/ If you want to take part in this, then please hit 'yes' on the counter below.
